Two Jobseekers’ Concessionary Rate places available on the Short Story Writing Course

September 15, 2011 in News by Lia Baron

As advocates of adult learning, we believe that everybody should have the opportunity to fine-tune their skills, and allow their creativity to flourish, so in conjunction with Comma Press, we’re making two places on our Short Story Writing Course available at a concessionary rate of £70 (full price: £125).

The two concessionary places are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and applicants will be asked to provide evidence that they are in receipt of JSA.

About the Short Story Writing Course:
Over the course of 5 workshops, you’ll get a handle on the predominant narrative structures used by short story writers, and implement them in your own work. Completing set writing tasks between workshops, and receiving structured, peer-driven feedback, you’ll develop 4 short stories to completion, with tailored advice on how to shape the story, how to improve the characterisation, dialogue, and narrative voice.

This course is taught by Jim Hinks, editor at the trail-blazing Manchester publisher Comma Press. This is the second time we’ve run this course, and in response to high demand, it’s been extended from 3 monthly session to 5.
